About

Hello! My name is Bernard Hiew, and I was born and reared on the stunning Malaysian island of Penang. My blog is about my love of making things. I enjoy learning new things, getting my hands dirty, and being curious about how things operate. Since I was twelve years old, electronics have been a part of my life. Initially, batteries and an LED were used. Since then, I've developed a passion for construction work and have invested the majority of my childhood savings in electronic hobby kits, publications, and books. Along with construction projects, I enjoy disassembling, repairing, and salvaging objects. Elektor, Everyday Practical Electronics, Circuit Cellar, Nuts and Volts, and most recently Make magazine are some of my favorite electronic publications. I operate in a small, unassuming workspace at home where I work on  projects. I'm currently employed in Penang in a design and development environment. In addition, I'm actively volunteering for Penang Science Cluster, a non-profit organization that supports STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) in my neighbourhood.

I appreciate you stopping by my blog. Please feel free to send me feedback, ideas, and suggestions. On the Contact page, you can email me. Enjoy your day!
